In general, the torque capacity of the coupling exceeds the normal torque transmitted by the largest shaft size that

the coupling can accommodate. Therefore, select the smallest coupling which accommodates both shaft

diameters. Where there is reverse operation, shock loads, or any other severe operating condition, it is

recommended that the next coupling size up is selected.
