ToothedCouplingThe structure is mainly composed of two external gear sleeves with the same number of teeth and two internal gear rings with flanges.The two outer gear sleeves are respectively fixed on the shaft ends of the two shafts to be connected by a chain. The inner teeth of the two inner gear rings mesh with the outer teeth on the sleeve, and the flanges are connected by bolts to realize the connection of the two shafts. The gear teeth on the outer gear sleeve and the inner gear ring are involute teeth with a meshing angle of a=20°.

The gear teeth on the outer gear sleeve and the inner gear ring are involute teeth with a meshing angle of a=20°.In order to compensate the relative angular displacement and radial displacement of the two shafts, the inner teeth and the outer teeth are meshed with a certain tooth side clearance during processing, and the tooth top of the outer gear sleeve is processed into a spherical surface, and the spherical surface is located on the axis of the sleeve.Obviously, when the relative angular displacement of the two connected shafts is large, the meshing gear tooth surfaces will only be in partial contact at both ends, which will affect the bearing capacity and service life of the coupling.Therefore, the external teeth on the sleeve can be changed from linear teeth to drum-shaped teeth.At this time, not only can the contact condition of the gear teeth along the tooth width direction be improved, the bearing capacity and the service life can be increased, but also the compensation ability of the coupling for the relative angular displacement of the two shafts can be improved.But it is not suitable to use vertical shaft connection.
     When the gear coupling is working, the allowable relative angular displacement angle of the sleeve line of the inner gear and the outer gear is a=30°. For the CL gear coupling, the allowable relative radial displacement angle of the two shafts is connected y=0.4-6.3mm.
     The outer gear sleeve and the inner gear ring are usually made of 45 steel, and can be made of ZG45 when the size is large.The tooth surface hardness of the inner gear ring shall not be lower than HRC35, and the tooth surface hardness of the outer gear bushing shall not be lower than HRC40.When the circumferential speed of the index circle diameter of the gear tooth is less than 5m/s, the tooth surface hardness can be lower. For the inner gear ring, it should not be less than HB250, and for the outer gear bushing, it should not be less than HB280. The hardness difference of the external teeth should not be less than HRC5 or HB30.
     When the gear coupling is working, due to the relative angular displacement of the two shafts, the tooth surfaces of the inner and outer teeth will continuously slide relative to each other in the axial direction, which will lead to tooth surface wear and power loss.Therefore, the gear coupling should have good lubrication and sealing.
     The load-carrying capacity and service life of gear couplings are often limited by tooth surface wear.Therefore, in order to avoid excessive wear of the tooth surface, after selecting the model and size of the gear coupling, the pressure of the tooth surface must be checked.
